Almost everyone has to wake up in the morning, and do something. Even if you wake up in the evening, you still, once awake, have to do something. And generally this something happens at a specific time.
Due to this simple fact, pretty much everyone needs a clock in the bedroom. You either need something to keep track of how long you sleep, or you need something to tell you when it is when you wake up.

People vary as to the number and types of clocks that they prefer in the bedroom. Some people want clocks everywhere, the walls, on dressers, and right next to the bed. They want to record the time of every moment, and to be constantly reminded of the rush that they are in.

This will often be backed up by either a wall or mantel clock, which is usually decorative, and which will also usually be quite large, to make it easy to tell the time from any angle.
Some people use ambient lighted clocks in this space,. Pieces such as illuminated onyx, or lava lamp clocks, have the dual purpose of acting as both clocks and night lights. They also allow you to wake up in the dark of night, and still see the time.
Almost everyone needs a clock in the bedroom. The choice between alarm clocks, mantel clocks, and wall clocks is one that will have to be determined based on the functionality needed in the space.
